Annual fest of DYPIU, Indus Fiesta, concludes at Akurdi campus

Pune, Jan 21 The annual fest of DY Patil International University of the academic year 2022-23, 'Indus Fiesta' was held on January 19-21 in the Akurdi, Pune campus.

The three-day fest was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Prabhat Ranjan on 19th in the presence of the Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Deans, Directors and other esteemed faculty members. The beginning of the grand event was marked by flying of a bunch of colourful balloons and lighting of the lamp. The day was observed as a Traditional Day.

Inaugurating the event, Prof Ranjan said, "This event is a celebration of the diversity and richness of our student body, as well as the dedication and hard work of our faculty and staff. I am particularly excited about this event because it brings together the diverse culture of our students under one roof, showcasing the best of India and its heritage."

I believe that this event will not only entertain but also enlighten us about the rich culture of our country, boost up the spirit of the students and acknowledge the contribution of the organizing committee members, he said.

Your talents and skills are a source of pride for our University and a reflection of the high standards of excellence that we strive for, he added.

First day of the event had non-cooking competition, dance, and music competition along with students' fashion show. The next day was dedicated to indoor events and drama. Students were given an opportunity to showcase their skills in the art forms like photography, meme, one minute film making and stand-up comedy.

Professors also took part in the event to motivate the students.

Grand finale of the event was held on January 21 which was marked by the prize distribution to the winners. Winners of each category performed on the stage. Faculty fashion show and faculty mushaira was also one of the main attractions of the grand finale. Besides, some surprises were also given to the audience by the students and quite a few faculty members.

Since 2018, DYPIU is serving the country as an institute of excellence. Students of the university have made their mark in the field of B-Tech, Business Administration, Media & Journalism, Design, Bioscience, Bioengineering among others. The University is ranked among the top educational institutes of the country. Indus Fiesta is organised every year in the month of January to celebrate the cultural heritage and academic excellence of the University.
